myBatik Exhibition at Semarang International Batik Festival 2013

Semarang is a city on the north coast of Central Java which hosts a strong batik heritage. Close to other batik centres, such as Jogjakarta and Solo, Semarang’s distinct designs reflect a strong Chinese influence.
There are growing opportunities for partnership in the Asia Pacific region, matching audiences with designers and craftspersons. Semarang is a rapidly growing hub, with many new ventures, particularly in craft development.
The inaugural Semarang Batik International Festival celebrates this venerable textile tradition and promotes new designs and products. It offers a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Indonesian craft and form creative partnerships for future success.
